Here at the Omaha Children's Museum, we are always looking for great volunteers to give our visitors a fun, educational, and unforgettable experience.  Click here to fill out a volunteer application.   

 

Omaha Children’s Museum has created a meaningful and fun summer experience for youth ages 12-15. Youth will experience everything they need to know about having a job, at a place that is fun and rewarding. 

By the end of their session, participants will have had opportunities to share their ideas in a public setting, self-manage their time, learn how to make decisions that benefit the group and so much more that will help propel them toward their future careers. They will have a chance to shadow OCM team members and make a real difference at the Museum and be better prepared to accept their first job in the future. Youth will need to be committed to attend all the scheduled days in their session. They may also choose to both sessions back to back.

Youth Crew members will receive a t-shirt, nametag, and have FUN while being supervised by museum staff.

Summer sessions 2013:

Cost (per Youth Crew participant, per session):
$60 members, $75 non-members.
Session registration deadline will be June 2.

Session 1: June 3 -  28

Monday, June 3 – Kickoff session, 6-7 pm

Orientation for parents and Youth Crew members will include summer goals, tour of the museum and Youth Crew will register their top three work areas choices.

Schedule for work:

Tuesdays and Thursdays, 9 am – 12 noon
June 4, 6, 11, 13, 18, 20, 25, 27

 

Session 2: July 8- August 2

Monday, July 8 – Kickoff session, 6-7 pm

o   Tuesdays and Thursdays, 9 am – 12 noon
July 9, 11, 16, 18, 23, 25, 30, August 1
