Come get your last play-time in at our Construction Zone: Return of the Bulldozer exhibit before it closes in just two weeks!
Try-A-Trade
Come be a plumber, carpenter and electrician all at the same time!
Ever wonder who does the building? Int the Try-A-Trade area, kids can learn about the various systems within a building and who the people are that make them! Partners from several Omaha Unions created these interactive exhibits so kids can learn about electrical circuits, plumbing, bolts, ventilation systems and more. Learning about these different trades will expand their ‘outer world’ and enhance their curiosity for new concepts.
Concrete Station

Mix up “cement” and fun at the Concrete Station!
Here in this immense sand pit area called the Concrete Station, kids will mix up “cement” like real construction workers do! Using earth-mover cranes and scoopers, kids can move the “cement" in various places.
Water Works

Explore how water transportation works!
Another fun part of our Construction Zone exhibit is this obstacle course area sponsored by Metropolitan Utilities District! Here kids learn about how water is transported in pipes underground through the pipe maze and can see how they use it above ground. The Metropolitan Utilities District also provides safety information regarding gas leaks from their eco-friendly home appliances! Also included in our Water Works area are regular visits on Saturdays 10:00-11:30 AM from Sniffy, MUD’s gas safety awareness monster! Stop by and learn all there is to know about how water works!
Build It

There is more than one way to build at the Build It station!
Kids come together here at the Build It station and create imaginative structures using all kinds of building tools such as Legos, KNex, builder boards and more! Open to kids of all ages, this is perfect for having kids develop their spatial awareness and coordination skills. Come construct the next Empire State building at the Build It station today!
