Science so small makes such a big difference!
We introduced the amazing new field of nano technology and science on March 31st with Nano Science Day! From 10am-12pm we had an array of activities to help teach the microscopic science that is the field of nano science. From looking at a butterfly’s wings under a microscope to magnifying particles of gold, it’s all about taking something of a small scale and enlarging it.
But we didn’t stop there! Partnering with Liberty Elementary, we have been hosting nano science workshops since February for grades three to six. It is designed to help introduce and create understanding for this exciting new field of nano science, granted through the Nano Institute for Science Education (NISE). The workshops employ various types of technology and tools scientists use like a special kind of gummy, which scientists use to coat cancer medication that will lessen the side effects on the patients. These and other experiments are being done at Liberty, all with the fun and intriguing new field of nano science!
