Omaha Children's Museum members will receive a Summer Camp 2010 brochure in the mail. All Omaha Children's Museum camps are taught by trained museum educators.
 
  Land Before Time – Learn about everything from T-Rex to Pterodactyls! Journey back in time where dinosaurs ruled the land, water and sky! Children will experiment with fossils, work on a dig team and more. There will be surprises around every corner and adventures at every turn as we rediscover the Land Before Time.

Ages: 4 & 5 years
Dates: June 28 – July 2; July 5 – 9; July 26 – 30; Aug. 2 – 6
Times: 9 am – Noon

  Camp Clifford – Sign up to help dog sit Clifford the Big Red Dog. The fun begins on the very first day when campers get to meet Clifford! Campers will visit the blockbuster summer exhibit, Adventures with Clifford the Big Red Dog, and have outrageous adventures. When Clifford gets lost, campers will work together to find him before Emily Elizabeth comes to pick him up! At the end of the week, they’ll know Clifford’s 10 Big Ideas - simple life lessons such as sharing, being kind, working together and more.

Ages: 4 & 5 years

Amazing Race – Campers will take a journey around the globe as they search for clues that will get them to their final destination. Geography will be more fun than ever before when kids explore a different country through a new challenge each day. Each destination will lead to the next clue and day of excitement. Get your passport ready and join in the Amazing Race!

Ages: 6 to 8 years
Dates: June 7 – 11; June 14 – 18; June 21 – 25; June 28 – July 2

The Chronicles of Narnia: Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe – Step through the wardrobe and take an adventurous trip to the Land of Narnia. Each day campers will meet a new character from the beloved Chronicles of Narnia with inspiring science and art activities. Campers will learn about characters like the White Witch and Aslan with projects that just might include dry ice and Turkish Delight!

Ages: 6 to 8 years
Dates: June 7 – 11; June 14 – 18; June 21 – 25; June 28 – July 2

  May the Force Be With You! – Join your Star Wars friends as we investigate robots, light sabers and space travel. From our Alpha Lab Station on the Moon of Endor we will create droids, light sabers and build models of space communities to support life on new planets. The last day of camp, campers will take a field trip to see Anakin Skywalker’s Podracer.

Ages: 6 to 8 years (special session for 4 & 5 year olds July 12-16)
Dates: July 5 – 9; July 19 – 23; July 26 – 30 (sold out)

  Pirates of the OCM – Join the band of shipwrecked pirates to search for buried treasure and take over the children’s museum. Each day will be filled with adventure as campers create pirate names and costumes, build a ship and discover the clues that will help them map their course to the buried treasure.

Ages: 6 to 8 years
Dates: July 5 – 9; July 12 – 16; July 19 – 23; July 26 – 30
Times: 1 – 4 pm

Stay All Day
Children ages 6 to 8 can enjoy a full day of activity at Omaha Children’s Museum with a morning and afternoon camp! Combinations include:

Option #1: Amazing Race (morning)/The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe (afternoon)

Lunch time from Noon-1 p.m. will be supervised – campers should provide their own lunch.
 
Neighborhood Camps
Stay in the neighborhood and get a full day of activity when you spend half of your day at Omaha Children’s Museum and the other half at The Rose. Staff will walk with kids and deliver them to their afternoon destination. Some camps must be registered for through The Rose and others at Omaha Children’s Museum. 

Junie B Jones, Meany Jim and the Whole Kindergartner Class/Pirates of the OCM
Hang out with the Junie B Jones gang in the morning then head over to Omaha Children's Museum to take part in all of the swashbuckling fun of Pirates of the OCM camp.

Ages:
6 to 8 years
Dates: July 12 - 16
Times: 9 am - Noon
Morning Session: Junie B Jones, Meany Jim and the Whole Kindergartner Class

Afternoon Session: Pirates of the OCM
(register through Omaha Children’s Museum) 

Princess and the Frog and Other Fairy Tales
Spend the mornings at the museum and the afternoons at the Rose. We will act out our favorite scenes, songs, and characters from the new movie,“The Princess & The Frog,” and also make up our own adaptation.

Ages:
6 to 9 years
Dates: Aug. 2 - 6
Times: 9 am – 4 pm
Cost: $190 (There are no member or early bird specials for this camp.) Register through The Rose
 
Before and After Care
Before and After Care is available for an additional $30 a week. Before Care is from 7:45 to 9 AM and After Care is from 4 to 5:15 PM. During this time, children play games, draw, read or participate in other activities supervised by education staff.

Please Note: Drop-ins for Before Care and After Care are subject to availability. The rate for drop-in care is $10 per morning or afternoon session.
 
Refund Policy
Refunds are given on class registration only if space can be filled by someone on a waiting list or if a class is cancelled
due to insufficient enrollment.
