We are bubbling down on fun as we celebrate Bubbly New Year’s Eve! This effervescent event will feature a bubble wrap stomp, the Amazing Bubble Science Show, and other bubble-themed activities. The Amazing Bubble Science Show will be held at 11:15 AM, 12:15 PM, 2:15 PM, 3:15 PM, 4:15 PM, 5:15 PM and 6:15 PM.

There will be four Bubble Drop Zones throughout the museum, and there will be hourly bubble drop countdowns starting at 10 AM. The last bubble drop will be at 7:45 PM.

There will be a mermaid meet & greet from 11 AM to 3 PM and from 4 PM to 8 PM.

All activities are included with museum admission. Masks are encouraged.

Health and safety measures The museum's leadership team has consulted local health experts from Nebraska Medicine and the Douglas County Health Department since the start of the pandemic. Here are a few of the safety measures we have taken:

1. Each area of the museum that’s open to the public -- on both floors -- has a large air purification system that continually filters and sanitizes the air. In smaller rooms and offices, more compact air purifiers have been installed. 2. The Super Gravitron now has four UV lights that sanitize the balls every time they pass through. As the balls drop from the hopper, they’re clean for the next child to pick up. 3. The museum has touchless entry and exits into the museum and in restrooms. The lobby and guest services counter have been redesigned to allow for easier social distancing. 4. Additional hand sanitizer stations will still be available throughout the building. 5. All staff members wear masks in public areas, as well as during meetings and in the break room when not eating. How you can help: - Guests ages 5 and older are encouraged to wear face coverings inside the museum. Guests younger than 5 and older than 2 are also encouraged to wear coverings, if it is safe to do so. Disposable masks and face shields are available at the front desk to anyone who needs one. - Keep practicing social distancing. Our educational programs like the science shows have limited seating to allow for social distancing. - Wash your hands!
